Suzuki and Suzuki Parts – A history of Success
Suzuki had its humble beginnings in Japan as a loom company in 1909. The owner, Michio Suzuki invested in machineries to make loom production more efficient and profitable. The profits of the loom production encountered steady growth rates through a 30-year span. At that point, the company had enough wealth to invest in other industries. In an effort to diversify their products, Suzuki invested in manufacturing compact cars. Suzuki’s automobile heritage began in 1937. The first Suzuki models sported a 13 horsepower, four-cylinder engine. However, at the onslaught of World War II (WWII) American strife halted production. Once again the company returned their investments to the loom company which would eventually see its demise in the 1950s.
The aftermath of WWII bought back investment opportunities in the transportation industry. During the 1950’s Suzuki engineered some of the pioneer motorcycle models of the world – compact and safe. The success of these motorcycles soon led to the establishment of the Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1955. This year also saw the re-entry of Suzuki into the car industry with the Suzulight. The Suzulight was Japan’s first lightweight-compact car. This success would carry on for years. During the 1980s, Suzuki entered the American market with revolutionary Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) that captivated the American consumer. Today, Suzuki is a multinational company that continues to pioneer automobile technologies. Their current vehicle line-up consists of: XL7, Grand Vitara, SX4, Forenza and the Reno. Model variety was conceptualized to serve the different needs and wants of car owners across America.
In 2007, Suzuki recorded the best sales year of the company. Suzuki sold an amazing 101,884 vehicles in America, which were marked by significant percentage increases in sales of different models. In addition to that, Suzuki has also garnered renowned success in the World Rally Championship (WRC). 2007 saw the Suzuki race team break the record for fastest hill climb at Pikes Peak Hill Club. Suzuki also established a fine line of racing products under the catalogue Suzuki Sport.
While Suzuki Sport offers performance enhancements and customization options, Suzuki also engineers replacement and maintenance parts. Suzuki parts continue the firm legacy the company has set in the automobile industry. Suzuki continues to supply their stakeholders with state-of-the-art parts for maintenance, enhancement and replacement.
